To me the best reason for not letting kids play games is that I am not running a video arcade. If I let the kids play games, that's all they would do. Teachers don't let kids play games in their classrooms except under strict conditions, so why should the library be any different. They aren't supposed to do IM either. We don't let them use the phone to call their friends; same principle.
