I am presently reading aloud from a galley of the Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane to our 3rd and 4th graders. The students have been enthralled and it is a joy to read aloud. I received this information and wish I could jump on a plane to be in Minnesota for a day to attend this event. The Red Balloon Bookshop presents world premiere of Newbery Award winning author Kate DiCamillo's new book "The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane" at The Fitzgerald Theater on Tuesday, February 14 at 7:00 p.m. Valentine's Day is an appropriate day to welcome this book about Edward Tulane, a china rabbit learning to love. The journey with Edward Tulane is an extraordinary one*from the depths of the ocean to the net of a fisherman, from the top of a garbage heap to the fireside of a hoboes' camp, from the bedside of an ailing child to the bustling streets of As readers travel with him, they are shown a miracle*that a heart of the most breakable kind can indeed learn to love, to lose, and to love again. DiCamillo will present from her new book, which is followed by a book signing. The event is hosted by Minnesota Public Radio host and senior producer Brian Newhouse. Tickets are free and are available on a first-come, first-served basis at The Red Balloon Bookshop and The Fitzgerald Theater. There is a limit of four tickets per group. Ticket holders are encouraged to arrive early. A book signing will follow DiCamillo's presentation with books available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Minnesota Public Radio Lisa Von Drasek Children's Librarian Bank Street College of Education School for Children Pre-K- 8 610 West 112th St NY NY 10025 lisav@bnkst.edu 212 875 4452 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
