Okay, folks. Can you perform the impossible one more time? One of my teachers is looking for a poem he read about 20 years ago. It was in a book called "Poetry USA" published by Scholastic around 1985 or earlier. The poem is about a young Indian (Native American) warrior who was killed in battle. It's a short poem, maybe 20 lines. It's about the advice given to the young warrior by his elders and goes like.....they said (something) and I listened, they said..... and I listened. It ends with something like "They said it was honorable to die in battle..... They lied. The teacher says that he found a recent edition of the book "Poetry USA" but this poem was not in it. Any suggestions? Thanks! Janice Utsch Library Media Specialist R. M.
