Since I have seen a number of messages about author visits lately, I thought I'd
share feedback of an author visit we had at in my school Media Center today.
We had Susan Stockdale, who lives outside of Washington D.C. in Maryland. She is
an author and illustrator who writes nonfiction for primary students. Her latest
book is being considered for a national science award. Even though her book is
geared toward the younger students, her talk to our 4-5th graders was excellent.
She talks about the writing process and has wonderful slides showing the progress
of her book from start to finish.
The kids and teachers loved her. So, if you are in the mid-Atlantic region and
looking for a great visit, she is worth consideration. Please feel free to contact
