Colleagues, Have any of you a suggestion for a YA novel to be read as a parallel prior to students reading Shakespeare's THE TEMPEST? I introduced a teacher to the professional resource FROM HINTON TO HAMLET; Building Bridges Between Young Adult Literature and the Classics by Sarah Herz and Don Gallo. She is already revising her thinking on some units but came to me with this request. I did not have an idea and wondered if any of you have had a teacher do this or have a suggestion. Thank you in advance if you can help.
