Thank you for your help. My original request for the books at the top of the list. I have put my comments for the counselor beneath the title as I did a review search. Below are the additional information that was sent to me by other librarians in response to my request. Thank you for your wonderful responses. Focus is on teaching austic students how to precieve the social clues, not in adjusting their concept of life. Good at giving an insight into our own world. Ten Things Every Child with Autism Wishes you Knew by Ellen Notbohm Oregon author, has a common sense approach. On several National review lists. High reviews from parents. Preparing for Life: The Complete Guide for Transitioning to Adulthood...by Dr. Jed Baker General reviews, nothing with high praise. Often stated--common sense, ideas presented on how to interact without changing the uniqueness of the child. The Best of Autism Asperger's Digest Magazine by Veronica Zysk Just general reviews--nothing high. Sometimes by Brother by Angie Healy Could not find a review on this book. Strengthening Relationships by Nicholas Martin Highly acclaimed by several organizations and parent reviews. Deals with the impact of families when they have a special needs child.
