and information literacy with K-12 curriculum. Pedagogical
and constructivist considerations include rationale for
using primary sources to stimulate inquiry, creativity and
higher order thinking, formulating research queries,
creating engaged learning activities, evaluating information
resources, teaching students research strategies, and
planning partnership activities with libraries and museums.

ADVOCACY AND EMERGING ISSUES FOR MEDIA SPECIALISTS

discuss the critical issues facing the school library media
profession. Activities include strategies for data gathering
and documenting what you do to better communicate the
relationship between your school library/media program and
student achievement. Explore strategies to document how your

your role as a technology and staff development leader.

nature of teenage readers and genres of young adult
