Dear Peter and all, Many have been following the official rules, replying to me for a hit gather. I certainly will be doing one but I do think it would be beneficial to the community to have and open discussion as lunch suggestions may trigger your own thoughts on the matter. The variety of suggestions have been enlightening. I have never thought to take soup but that has been a frequent healthy suggestion.Peter, could you be more specific for the cooking inept. So I've got a bag??A can??A cup of beans... Sounds great during these very chilly winter days. Thanks Lisa >>> Peter Milbury <pmilbury@IIS.SYR.EDU> >>> Thanks for starting this thread, Lisa, My favorite is leftover soup and whole grain bread, along with some raw carrots and apples. On weekends, especially during the winter, I usually make a big kettle of soup from scratch, using various varieties of dried beans (pinto, garbanzo, navy, small red, kidney, adzuki, black, etc.) and seasonal vegetables from our Farmers' Market. I love to take a thermos full, and also enjoy some whole wheat bread from our local baker. The carrots are often consumed mid-morning break. I hope we hear from many members about their healthy bag lunches, so that we will all be inspired to be healthy during 2006!
