I have to agree with Peter, a good bowl of hot soup is hard to beat at lunch! I
also like to bring beef stew. I just follow the recipe on the back of the McCormick
beef stew packet and I've got lunch for several days.

I appreciate the suggestions of this thread. Lunches can get so routine.

Subject: Re: Recipe bag lunch suggestions-- Soup and....

Thanks for starting this thread, Lisa,

My favorite is leftover soup and whole grain bread, along with some raw
carrots and apples.

On weekends, especially during the winter, I usually make a big kettle of
soup from scratch, using various varieties of dried beans (pinto,
garbanzo, navy, small red, kidney, adzuki, black, etc.) and seasonal
vegetables from our Farmers' Market. I love to take a thermos full, and
also enjoy some whole wheat bread from our local baker. The carrots are
often consumed mid-morning break.

I hope we hear from many members about their healthy bag lunches, so that
we will all be inspired to be healthy during 2006!
