Hi everyone, I do a unit comparing Penguins and Polar Bears with my third graders. I rented "March of the Penguins" over vacation and there is a segment on the DVD that is very informational and I'd like to show to my classes. It is not part of the actual movie, it is called "Critter Cam" and it explains how scientists study penguin behavior. My question for those of you who have seen it, there is a short piece in which they show a baby penguin who dies when its parent dies. No blood... just quietly dies. Do you think that is too harsh for third graders? Critter Cam is the only segment I would plan to use.
