Y'all, I need some reassurance if at all possible. I have 3000 textbooks lying on
the floor in and around the library at school. All these must be barcoded. My IT
department is finishing our "upgrade" from Spectrum 5.2 to InfoCenter ?.? (I hope
they at least got the newest version, even though it's been on their desk since
last August, but I digress). I know nothing about InfoCenter, less than nothing.
So, can someone who has been through this answer the following questions:
1) Will the barcodes on the collection now work with InfoCenter or will I have to
rebarcode the entire collection? (If I do, keep an eye on CNN, if you know what I
mean)
2) Is the process for printing barcodes similar enough between Spectrum and
InfoCenter that I'll be able to start printing barcodes tomorrow when the Beta Club
kids show up to help put them on books?
3) Is the process for cataloging new materials similar enough between Spectrum and
InfoCenter that I'll be able to start putting in all my new stuff?
And just for kicks,
4) Why does a district with only 7 schools (1 hs, 1 ms, 1 6g center, and 4 elems)
even need a union catalog?

Oh, well, can someone tell me if my year is going to be a disaster right from the
start?
