Thanks to everyone for responding! The overwhelming majority go lidless to graduation while wearing (proudly) their gowns and academic colors and hoods. Here is a bit of background from Wayne State University on the traditions: http://www.media.wayne.edu/release.php?id=1588 There are a few of us who prefer to wear the whole kit & kaboodle as it is tradition, more dignified, the right thing to do, etc. But lately we traditionalists seem to be getting left behind by the more casual crew. Whichever way it is done, it seems to be very well received as an honor to the students we have worked with (along with their parents) for 13 years. Thanks again & hope everyone has a productive summer!
