[LM_NET] Gen: donate a book in New Orleans

For ALA Conference Attendees: 
ALA will be collecting new books for all ages at the Annual Conference
in New Orleans and will distribute them to hurricane damaged libraries
throughout the Gulf Coast region.  YALSA would like to ensure that these
libraries receive lots of books for teens, so we're asking you to
consider including a YA book in your suitcase to donate to this effort.
If you would like to participate, then please bring your donation to
YALSA's Membership Booth in Lobby J of the convention center.  We will
be accepting donations at the booth Friday afternoon through Monday
afternoon.  
 
If you are purchasing a book to donate, please consider selecting a
"classic" to help ensure that libraries receive a depth and breadth of
materials and not just the most recent publications.  
 
For Individuals Not Attending the Conference: 
Please be aware that ALA and YALSA are not accepting donations at the
Chicago Headquarters, due to limited staff and resources.  If you are
not attending the conference, but would still like to contribute, please
visit www.ala.org/katrina or
www.solinet.net/Disaster_templ.cfm?doc_id=3761 for a list of some
other ways you can help out.  Thank you for your generosity!
