Dear MAME Members, Marshall High School in Marshall, Michigan is in need of a new library media specialist this fall. The school has a very supportive principal, a fairly young staff and a student body of just under 900 students. The district is planning to run a bond issue which will result in major updates to the high school media center if it passes. (Bond issues in Marshall usually pass.) We have just had a smooth change from Dynix Scholar to the TLC automation system funded by a local foundation grant. Our current library media specialist has been a delight to work with, but has accepted another position following a spouse's job change. Marshall is a town of about 13,000 residents. The community has a strong sense of pride, values schools, hosts a tour of historic homes each fall and even has a small locally owned bookstore whose proprietor is a valued member of the town's literary community. A new arts center is opening, sports teams tend to do well, and Marshall's location at the crossroads of I-69 and I-94 makes the town easily accessible. Many people choose to live in Marshall and commute to Lansing, Kalamazoo or Jackson. Please feel free to call or email me with any questions about the position. I am the Marshall Middle School media specialist and after thirty years here am still thoroughly enjoying our Marshall students, staff and community. The posting follows: ________________________________________________________________________ LIBRARY MEDIA SPECIALIST (9-12) LIBRARY MEDIA ENDORSEMENT REQUIRED, MASTER'S DEGREE IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE PREFERRED.
