Thanks to all who have been writing about their experiences and expressing their
opinions about teaching computer skills in conjunction with library lessons.

However, I would like to hear from anyone with specific ideas for teaching
technology skills to the very young, Pre-K through 2nd grade, as a library teacher.

My schools do not not have a computer or technology teacher; classroom teachers are
now being asked to enter technology report card grades. They must find time to
have students use the "Type to Learn" software to learn keyboarding. I feel it is
not appropriate for me to use library time for this. I teach second graders use of
OPAC, Kidspiration, some WORD and PowerPoint. What about the younger ones?

Any ideas? Great lessons? Suggestions? THANK YOU,

Martha Taylor, LMS
