[LM_NET] Target -- Copyright re: videotaping school plays

Hey, copyright gurus!  I need help -- where can I locate information
about videotaping of school plays withing the copyright law.  According
to the director of our most recent school play, the contact allows for
videotaping for "educational purposes."  I don't have a copy of the
contract, just taking her word for it.  What do you think this means?
She thinks it means that the school should duplicate a parent's
videotape of the play and pass it around to students who weren't there,
families who couldn't make it, or show it in music classes.  What do you
think?  I'm uncomfortable with her interpretation.
 
If I can find more information on this, then I believe we need to update
our school copyright policy to include this situation.
