In case you haven't tried it lately - Ask.com (formerly AskJeeves) has
added some really great features. This article summarized the changes
very well:
http://ptech.wsj.com/ptech.html

I really like the nice clean looking interface. And I love the "smart
answers" feature. But the feature I like best is the list of suggested
broader, narrower and related topics on the right side. It is a huge
help. We had a half day for staff development last week. We were
supposed to research materials and websites that would help us
differentiate instruction to support different learning styles. Gary
Price kindly offered me a phone tour of the site. It was very helpful.
I think that this search engine will be a great tool to get students
thinking about different search strategies. So many of the kids seem to
wander from search engine to search engine, entering the same search
words over and over. The list of suggested topics will really help
them think of alternative terms. Those of you who gave up on AskJeeves
like I did - give this a try. It is a whole new search tool!
