Hi,
While at AASL last fall, I attended Dr. Ross Todd's presentation on
Finding Evidence Based Practice in your School Media Center. I was very
impressed. He mentioned that it is the goal that all media specialists
in Ohio receive a day-long seminar-workshop to learn how to gather evidence.
My question is for those of you who have been through the training,
what difference has it made in your program? Have you found it to be
something that changed "the way you do business" or "the way others in
the educational setting view what you do?" Has it made any difference?
I'm especially interested in hearing from high school media specialists.
Have you implemented what you learned or was it too theoretical?
I live in Florida and am considering enrolling for the June 21
session--but it will be strictly at MY expense (no money for
conferences-workshops). So...is it REALLY worth it (I'm talking about
$600+)?
Please reply off list--and say exactly what you feel...this won't be
fed back to anyone. The information is strictly to help me determine
whether I want to part with that much money.
Thanks, so much for your help and advice.
