We are planning to present some mini-workshops for our teachers next fall and discovered that many of them do not know about or are even aware of some of the "technologies" available to them. (Flash drives; websites such as Flickr, Mappr; use of software programs such as powerpoint). We hope to put together a "how to" manual / hand-out on things broken down into specific groups such as: Classroom sofware (such Powerpoint, Word, email, etc.); Websites (such as Flickr, Blogger, etc.) and so on. If you have already created something like this, would you mind sharing some of the concepts or materials that you've presented? Our teachers have range of abilities but we'd like to be able to bring most of them "up to speed" on some of the basic things and make them aware of what our students are already using. If you could share your ideas, I'd appreciate it. I'll be creating this document over the summer and we'll have it posted on our website by next fall. When it's there, I'll send you a link to browse or download it for your own use! Thanks for sharing! ~Shonda Shonda Brisco, MLIS US / Technology Librarian 4200 Country Day Lane Fort Worth Country Day School Fort Worth, TX 817.732.7718 ext. 339 "We can't wait for somebody outside of ourselves to rescue us, because nobody is coming to the rescue..." ~ Ross Todd, Professor School of Communications, Information, and Library Studies, Rutgers University sbrisco@fwcds.org http://www.fwcds.org/campus/libraries/default.asp -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
