Just a recap: The web cam technology used was inexpensive (under $150)
and it captured clear picture and sound. A few replied and sent thanks
for the example.

Several wrote and mentioned they didn't get to see it on May 29th. If you
are one of those who did not get a chance to see it used, and you are
considering such technology for your library, it will be airing again on
July 4th from 4:30 - 5:00 pm CST.

I hope this helps.

Just info.:

Last week there were e-mails about technology and what worked well.

Tried a CREATIVE LIVE WIRELESS CAM and it was easy to use to webcast a
celebrity to kids who have seen her at her library visits (Lily, the dog
from the book THE BOY, THE KING, AND THE CHIHUAHUA).

If interested, or have ever consider web casting as a cost effective way
to have outreach, and want a sample, to access the camera to see the
quality and LILY LIVE, go to
http://www.ijustread.com/id22.htm
and then click on Lily's photo. Then, type in the word Lily when it
asks for USERNAME and type in fanclub where it asks for PASSWORD.

It is a light-hearted way to celebrate Lily's fifth birthday, which is
today, and an easy way to see if it is the type of technology the library
can use.

Since kids are so computer literate nowadays, the web cam has been a hit
with the kids and they've been making home made cards and sending them
to the author. The kind of cards that would make anyone with a heart
cry tons, and they are the children's boook reviews seen at
http://www.ijustread.com/id23.htm

This technology is inexpensive and although I have no affiliation with
CREATIVE, if you want more information in how easy the set up is, feel
free to call me at (512) 923-2262 after the Memorial Day Holidays.
