Good morning; A new teacher is trying to freshen up an "old" curriculum for a 9th grade Humanities class. She is looking for a novel that fits these needs: Somewhat of a "classic", YA, multicultural, and has a theme of rite of passage. She can not use: Ordinary People, To Kill a Mockingbird, Separate Peace or Lord of the Flies. Any ideas would be appreciated.
