If you want to whet the intellect of the future, you are in the perfect
place.

Be a member of LM_Net since you are the only LMS in your
building/district and you need the help of other LMS.

And, organize, organize, organize so you can find anything at a second's
notice since a second is all you'll ever have.

Prioritize, enjoy the kids, and make a difference!

Here is the hit of comprised results for the request for "best advice
For k-12 libraries." Thanks all -

My advice would be "You learn by doing. Don't be afraid to try something
new"

Make friends with one teacher per grade level who can be your
"collaborator" and example for the others to see how you can help them.

Always remember that a lot of these students have complicated home lives. A
lot of times their overdue book that seems like the most important thing in
the world to us, is the least of their problems.
Stay connected with other librarians--- then you'll always have new ideas,
new solutions, great opportunities, and wonderful morale builders!

My three rules are:
Don't take it personally,
Keepasensahuma
And if you need to have a perfectly clean desk at the end of the day,
you've got the wrong job.

Remain calm, be very flexible and at the end of the day identify where you
really were good at what we do!

You cannot please all of the people all of the time. It is a sure road to
burnout to try. Focus on the job at hand, and do the very best you can at
it. Accept that you cannot do everything.

I would suggest that they join LMNET!

My advice: if you can say "yes" be sure to do so.

Be calm, be friendly, and be flexible. A smile goes a long way!
