> I love this book but have no wonderful ideas for you---please post a hit. I had my assistant off to the side and a little remote control device(in this case a spider) under a "treat box". I decoupaged the box with different warning labels and had it on the table beside me as I read the book. Whenever I mentioned the phrase "treat box" my assistant moved it. Depending upon the class and the obvious fact that it is a bit freaky, depends upon your noise level and response during the book talk. I had some classes that were totally oblivious and I had some that screamed! However after we talked about the message of the story we also had a look at what was under the treat box. This reiterated the message that things are not what they seem (although it might have been better if it were a remote controlled car). What might be better (and I had to do since I have five sections) is to wait and let the kids minds fester, unclear of what's inside the box...
