Hi All I am new at the school where I work, and one of the unique features of the library here is a Media Services course. I run this course that has about 6 students who sign up for each section. I run 5 sections. It essentially is an aide program where the students help photocopy, deliver materials, laminate, video tape school events, and do whatever it is that I need them to do. This course has existed for YEARS and the students receive a letter grade (as in, it is not pass/fail). In the beginning of the year, I was asked to give the class more structure and add some instructional components to it. I've tried to, and its difficult to balance this between running a library and working with classes that come in for research. Essentially, what I'd like to know is if other schools have this course and if so, how is it run? How do you balance between working with classes coming in to the library and working with the students assigned to your Media Services course?
