Thanks to those who replied.  

I use Wilson's School Library Catalog as my reference
for what 
materials
to place in my library. They have one for elementary,
junior high and
senior high school.  They cover all areas...fiction,
non-fiction, story
collection and reference.  They have the review and
purchasing
information with each entry. 

Author info? Something about the author is probably
too pricy, but Major Authors and ILlustrators.....has
all the biggies. I think it's from Gale.

Animal encyclopedia set - there are several good ones.

Famous First Facts

Rhyming dictionary (one of most popular REF items)

World Almanac

Science dictionary

Math dictionary
