I am doing research for a librarian friend. Her school district is dissolving the position of the district library coordinator at the end of this school year. The responsibilities will be assumed by the technology instructional specialist in the curriculum department. This person does not have any library background or experience. I have worked with many school districts throughout Texas and see the need for the retention of this position. This is a school district with 10 schools (approx. 6900 students). They are looking to prepare the best defense possible to keep a district library coordinator. Any suggestions you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
