Just to weigh in once more ... I love hearing the opinions of my colleagues on this subject. I have also asked for the opinion of others and have yet to find anyone else who finds it objectionable. I also raised the conversation with the Pre-Ker's parents and they actually got a good chuckle out of it finding their son's reaction somewhat mystifying ... I read a great book called Battling Dragons about censorship in children's literature. It is a fascinating discourse on when it is appropriate to raise sensitive issues with children. It is a question I continue to explore... Skippyjon Jones is a persian cat who thinks he is a chihuahua-- and he is an all-around rebel and freethinker to boot! The illustrations are terminally cute, and the story lines are wild and rambunctious. Are many of you finding that the Skippyjon Jones is as captivating to children as they are to my grandson?
