Hi all,

Just wanted to share our great experience with David Patneaude and his
visit to our school yesterday.
Our middle school chose David's Last Man's Reward for an all school
summer read. Our teachers
started the year with some great activities that dovetailed with the
novel and as a culmination to all of the activities, David visited our
school.

Our kids and staff were extremely pleased with his visit. David has a
very gentle manner in his presentation. Throughout each session with
the kids he weaves his own personal history as well as his writing
process. He has a great sense of humor and kept the staff and kids
laughing..... and you all iknow that middle school kids aren't the
easiest to captivate.
Dave's honorarium is extremely reasonable, and he is willing to travel
as long as his personal expenses are covered.

I know that many of you are fortunate enough to have money in your
budget to cover author visits. Don't hesitate to consider David. Here
is a link to his web site and his books --- he has a great historical
fiction Thin Wood Walls which is about a Japanese internment camp as
well as other mysteries and adventures. Watch for his new book in the
spring, A Piece of the Sky.
