For girls, I would suggest Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It is the first
book of 4. The second book, New Moon, is due out in September. It is a
vampire romance novel, and I cannot keep it on my shelves. The book is
on both our state list for high school and junior high.

My teachers are screaming for suggestions for high-interest recreational
reading. They are tired of doing the "boring classics" and want some
contemporary titles that will appeal to high school students. One
teacher has assigned Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game to her whole class
as their free reading book. The students are loving it. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
