"Since the "sites" look real, they may fool someone who doesn't pay close attention to what is actually written." Yes, embarassingly, I've noticed some teachers and librarians have actually linked to some of Jeff's sites as "legitimate," useful resources on the particular topics. Try this search on Google: "beluga whales facts" - the idiotica.com site comes out at the top of the list! A great illustration that you can't just do a Google search and automatically take/trust the first thing that comes up. (Also a warning that directories can't be completely trusted, either--this spoof site on Beluga whales is also listed in the Google Directory list under: Kids and Teens > School Time > Science > Living Things > Animals > Mammals ><http://www.google.com/Top/Kids_and_Teens/School_Time/Science/Living_Things/Animals/Mammals/Dolphins_and_Porpoises/> Whales Leroy Smith Colorado Srpings On 8/31/06, David Lininger <tss003@tnp.more.net> wrote: > > Paula duFeu wrote: > > >http://www.idiotica.com/cranium/encyclopedia/content/civilwar.htm > > > >Thanks for your help.
