Thank you to all who responded with advice about shelving Fiction. Unfortunately, the advice is a bit moot at this point. With 1700 plus students in a building meant for 800, kids (and teachers) are everywhere. The Fire Marshal came in and objected to 50 plus students in each classroom and in the halls. So one night after I left, the administrators, second grade teachers, and a handful of helpful fire fighters moved books and bookshelves to make the Media Center into 3 classrooms. The books are literally everywhere. Shelves form the "walls" for each room and provide storage for the class. Once our new school opens, which should be in 2-3 weeks, we will have to put the library back together piece by piece, if we can find all the pieces. Please forgive me for taking so long to thank everyone, but life is just a bit hectic right now.
