Have any of you read The Devil in Vienna by Doris Orgel? A parent whose 6th grade child came to me this morning about a scene in the first chapter or so where a man exposes himself to a child. She has told me that she plans to finish reading it to see if there is anything else inapproriate in it and will let me know. If you have read it, are there more "nasty" parts than this one? I have not read it yet and am having trouble finding written out reviews on it. It was listed in various places with the following awards: ALA Notable (year?), Sydney Taylor Award, Golden Kite Award, & a Phoenix Award. Do any of you know where I might find a professional review of this also? I have looked at SLJ and EvaluTech. Thanks for any help you can offer!
