Good afternoon everyone, I wanted to borrow from your collective wisdom. I am teaching a class entitled "Computers as Data Managers" for graduate library science students. I plan to incorporate Excel, Access, Inspiration, and IMPACT! into the course. I also plan to highlight how PCs are used to manage data in all aspects of being a school librarian: teaching, reference, budgeting, management, cataloging, selection/evaluation, lesson planning, automation, etc.. I would welcome input from this very creative and learned community as to what ways you use computers to manage data in your own LMCs. For instance, in what ways do you use each of these programs or others in your LMC to manage data? I would also be interested in any type of websites (esp. any that could be classed as databases) that you find especially useful and would recommend to new school librarians. I will post a hit if there is interest!
