Hello: I have finished looking at the books on newbery list and gone through many of the ones on the caldecott list. This is what I have so far - if any of you have time, I would appreciate your thoughts on the grade level that AR has recommended as correct for each of them. Some of them seem off to me, but I don't know where I would put them... Also - I have students who are reading below grade level - on a 2nd grade level or so. I was going to give them Caldecotts instead, but almost all of the books on the list are either 3rd and up or way below 1st. Does anyone have a suggestion for Caldecott books I may haved missed? Or another way to include them besides using Caldecott books that seem to be out of their range?? Even Van Allsburg's books are coming in at 3rd-4th grade reading level... I appreciate any help that anyone may be able to offer me!
