I'm working on a project to determine Media Bias and compiling resources, websites, etc., on the topic. I am looking for a source that provides a list of popular newspapers, magazines, and journals that have a particular slant or bias (conservative, liberal, etc.). I have found websites that provide information on teaching media bias, detecting media bias, and evaluating various forms of the media for bias, but I really want an actual list of popular magazines and newspapers that have a bias (a "label" is assigned to the magazine or newspaper) based upon evaluations done through an independent university study or independent organization. I don't want personal opinions, observations, or evaluations done by those with an agenda, but rather something that can be used to share with students and teachers regarding the print media. (This will be difficult to find, I'm sure, but interesting if available.) I have found one university link to a list but I was hoping for something with a bit more substance. Please send your links or resources to me and I will post a HIT if others are interested. Also....if you're already looking for something like this and want to see what I've already compiled, please feel free to visit the Texas School Librarians' wiki at: http://txschoollibrarians.wikispaces.com/Media+Bias (Note: this wiki page is not finished....I've just started compiling the resources and will be adding more information, lessons, and resources as I go!)
