I am working away on this project. Thanks again to those of you who have
provided me with excellent insight. So some more questions.

In my studies on systemic change, I realize there are two potent change
instigators. One is an outside "expert" - a role I can play (but just do not
expect me to get an "expert's ego." ;-))

The other is through the collection and analysis of data. So I figured I
would provide a short survey or set of questions to go along with my PPT.
This could be used as written survey or discussion questions.

Here are some I have come up with.

How well is our school maintaining a focus on appropriate educational use of
the Internet?

If use of Internet resources is appropriate for your subject area, how well
prepared are you to effectively provide instruction using the Internet?

How effective are the school's supervision and monitoring strategies?

Is the filter blocking sites that have appropriate educational uses?

Is it possible to quickly override the filter?

How effectively are we providing instruction to students?

How effectively are we providing instruction to parents?

Thoughts? Feedback? Additions? Subtractions?

I also thought I would show you one part I specifically wrote about you:

Inappropriate Blocking
€ Library media staff should have primary authority for decisions
related to selection of categories to be blocked.
They are the district¹s most highly trained professionals on issues
related to the appropriateness of materials for students.
€ Selected staff in school building must have authority and ability to
quickly override the filter to provide access to other staff or students to
sites that have been inappropriately blocked.
