Thank you so much for sharing your links for music activities. Here is a compilation of the great suggestions I received. Please forgive me if I forgot to send you a personal thanks and have a great school year! http://jc-schools.net/tutorials/gameboard.htm go down the left side to "The Arts Games" and you find music instrument lingo and music what's my name? Music Centre - Grades 1 - 12 - permalink Music teachers and those who work with gifted and talented will LOVE this one. The sections include "Listening Room," "Sound Library," "Downloads," "Links," "Virtual Keyboard," "Ask an Expert," and "Mixing Studio." Students can listen to music, submit music mixes, play the virtual keyboard and even ask questions of a music expert. Be prepared for British spelling differences. It has a variety of games and activities to help learn music and sounds. It doesn't actually have audio of how to say the simple words that describe the sounds, but there's no shortage of sounds to describe. I've placed it at the bottom of the Music and Art category of the my English Themes for Beginners and Early Intermediate page. While you're there, you might want to check out quite a few other neat links to English language development activities related to the arts. http://mentalfloss.com/quiz/quiz.php?q=84 The New York Philharmonic for Kids is a wonderful interact website.
