We just ordered 10 Mimios for our new middle school. My tech
specialist and myself demonstrated it during our new school retreat.
It is cheaper than the Smartboard--It makes any whiteboard
interactive. It operates a little differently with different software
than the Smartboard, but our teachers are looking forward to learning
the software and using it effectively in the classroom. We purchased
them for $700.00 each. My tech specialist had used them in his
previous school and I saw one of his Math teachers demonstrate it. It
was definitely a technology I wanted to have in our new school. The
main difference between the mimio and the Smartboard is that it you
can't move objects with your hands, you must use the pen that comes
with it.
