Dear LM_Netters I teach in a Catholic school. One of our parents has challenged The Golden Compass and wants it and the rest of the series removed from the library. I have started proceedings for the process, but would like your help in answering the comments that the author is an "athiest" and that the book have an anti-religtion / Christian message. Before this happened I had discussed the book w/ my principal and assured her that of all my former students that had read the book, as well as myself and my daughter... none had commented on any anti-religion themes NOR have any of them become athiest - at least as a result of reading this book! Any assistance you can provide is very welcome. I want to make sure this book stays in our library.
