Colleagues, I had an interesting discussion with a friend regarding the following. I would like to hear your opinions too: Do you think that school librarians are locked out / side swiped by the Technology department in the schools on many issues, such a administrative privileges for logging into the school computers, decisions to purchase software and hardware, etc. If it was not for us, I do not think that there would be IT specialists in many school divisions. I feel it is due to the innovative library/ media center programs in the past and today that the Technology departments at schools gained their road to fame. I know that there were always a Technology department, but they were more a technical department working on the school's administrative software. What are your thoughts?
