Just thought I'd add my bit on this subject:

We have one tech support person at our school. He's the technology teacher
and the "Tech Contact". That means he's really only responsible for calling
our district office when there are issues, but he takes care of just about
everything anyway.

I am also a "tech" person and often help out. In fact, my knowledge of
computers and specifically, the library programs is probably what got me the
position I have as media specialist. I guess it didn't hurt already being
at the school for 12 years too.

The tech guy and I work well together. He handles some issues. I handle
others. In fact, if a teacher calls the district office, they tell them,
"Talk to Alex or Debra, first."

But what really helps us get along so well is the fact that we've been
married to each other for 20 years. :-)

Smiles!

Interesting. Here's a different perspective. I *AM* the IT department
at my school. You should hear the arguments I have with myself!
I wonder, are there many other solo sysadmin/tech support teacher/
librarians on the list?
