I'm spending a huge amount of time this spring gutting the collection by a good 60%. It's pretty old, my principal completely agrees and also seems willing to fund rebuilding it. Hooray! A lot of books have simple "gone missing,"--mostly, I suspect, because the doors don't lock, kids are in here at all hours, and there's no security system, so it's pretty easy to inadvertantly walk out with a book. Thus, I'm trying to make a case for putting a system in this summer, before all the new books start coming in. However, I'm completely clueless about this (it's my first year as librarian). I Googled it, but there are so many different companies out there, I thought I'd ask all of you---who are the most reliable vendors for this sort of thing? Many thanks!
