The Trees of the Dancing Goats by Patricia Polacco

Two faiths are brought together one winter in rural Michigan when a
Jewish family celebrating Hanukkah makes Christmas special for their
neighbors, a Christian family whose house has been touched by scarlet
fever.

 

Elijah's Angel by Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson

At Christmas-Hanukkah time, a Christian woodcarver gives a carved angel
to a young Jewish friend, who struggles with accepting the Christmas
gift until he realizes that friendship means the same thing in any
religion.

 

The Christmas Menorahs: How a Town Fought Hate by Janice Cohen

Describes how people in Billings, Montana, joined together to fight a
series of hate crimes against a Jewish family.

 

Snow in Jerusalem by Debra deCosta

Although they live in different quarters of Jerusalem, a Jewish boy and
a Muslim boy are surprised to discover they have been caring for the
same stray cat.

 

Night Tree by Eve Bunting 

A family makes its annual pilgrimage to decorate an evergreen tree with
food for the forest animals at Christmastime.

the woods to see the Great Horned Owl.

 

Snowflake Bentley by Jacqueline Briggs Martin

A biography of a self-taught scientist who photographed thousands of
individual snowflakes in order to study their unique formations.

 

Togo by Robert Blake

In 1925, Togo, a Siberian husky who loves being a sled dog, leads a team
that rushes to bring diphtheria antitoxin from Anchorage to Nome,
Alaska.

 

Marven of the Great North Woods by Kathryn Lasky

When his Jewish parents send him to a Minnesota logging camp to escape
the influenza epidemic of 1918, ten-year-old Marven finds a special
friend.

 

The Quiltmaker's Gift by Jeff Brumbeau.  It is about giving without the
Christmas message. 

When a generous quiltmaker finally agrees to make a quilt for a greedy
king but only under certain conditions, she causes him to undergo a
change of heart.

 

The Five-Dog Night by Eileen Christelow 

Cantankerous Ezra keeps rebuffing his nosy neighbor Old Betty when she
tries to give him advice on how to survive the cold winter nights, until
she finally discovers that his five dogs are his private source for
warmth.

 

First Snow in the Woods: A Photographic Fantasy, by Carl R. Sams II and
Jean Stoick

Photographs and simple text describe how the animals in the forest
prepare for the first winter snows.

 

My brother Loved Snowflakes : the story of Wilson A. Bentley, the
snowflake man by Mary Bahr Fritts,

In this imaginary reminiscence, Charles Bentley recalls the life and
times of his brother, Wilson A. Bentley, who made the study of snow his
life's work.
