Greetings! I wasn't sure how to put this in the subject line. I have written a grant so that I can purchase Playaways for my 4th and 5th grade students and I need to clarify some points for the grant reviewing committee. They would like to know how long a Playaway lasts. Since Playaways are still a "new" technology, I have been unable to locate (in the archives and elsewhere) what the life expectancy of a title is. Does anyone know how many times a Playaway might circulate before it needs to be replaced? If possible, I'd like to offer the committee a comparison of the number of times an audio book on CD, a hardcover book or a paperback book might circulate. Does anyone know approximately how many times a hardcover book (not library bound) might circulate before it falls apart? Or a paperback? Or a CD? As always, anything you can do to point me to some answers is greatly appreciated.
