Hi All, I was reading an article in the New Jersey Education Association's Review magazine entitled "A New Age for Picture Books." The article was written by a reading teacher here in NJ. It talks about how to get reluctant readers in middle schools interested in reading by giving them picture books. This has been something that media specialists have advocated for years. It bothers me when reading articles such as these there is never any mention of collaboration with the media specialist when we can be such an invaluable asset on these types of issues. It is just another example of how we need to get out and advocate our programs. As an aside the teacher talks about how she scanned the pictures in these books so she can show them on an overhead while she reads the book allowed. I'm not too versed on copyright and was wondering if this violates copyright. I will be happy to fax anyone a copy of this. I don't know if this publication appears in any database. -- Nicole Sette School Library Media Specialist Woodcliff School Woodcliff Lake, NJ nsette@woodcliff-lake.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
