----- Original Message ----- From: Lizanell Boman To: LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU Sent: Thursday, February 01, 2007 1:00 PM Subject: [LM_NET] Target: Circulation Policies Hey Folks, Would some of you please weigh in on a few circulation questions? 1. For how long do materials circulate? one month with unlimited renewals 2. Does circulation time vary based on the type of material (overnight for reference, 1 week for magazine's, two for novels etc.,) or by grade level? No - for DVD/VIDEOS I bargain with the student - depends on assignment. I don't have any magazines - so not an issue. 3. How often do you issue overdue notices? I haven't in 2 years. Without a library aide - I have no time 4. Do you offer a 'grace period' for overdues? Built in grace period- giving them a month 5. Do you charge overdue fines? Actually I say I do - but I haven't collected. I feel guilty if no overdues have gone out - so my tendency is to forgive all fines. I just want the material back. We do hold graduation and transcripts if materials are overdue. 6. If you do charge fines, who is responsible for collecting them? I would be - and as above, there is no time How do you handle change/receipts? Mandarin will print a receipt - but since I haven't charged fines - no receipts Allan Dr. Allan O'Grady Cuseo (Brother Donogh Allan, MGC) Bishop Kearney High School Library 125 Kings Highway South Rochester, New York 14617 585-342 - 4000 x231 585-342 - 4694 (FAX) acuseo@bkhs.org Education in the tradition of the Christian Brothers and the School Sisters of Notre Dame FAC OMNIA BENE (Do all things well) PRIVILEGED AND CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION: The information contained in this electronic transmission, and any documents attached hereto, may contain confidential information that is legally privileged and confidential.
