Good Evening, This list serv has been so helpful. Thanks to all who have emailed me over the past few days. Today in my Children's Literature class for Library Media Specialists, my professor had a very interesting presentation on award winning children's literature. I have not read too many children's books over the years. I mainly read adult fiction. Anyway, my professor went over several book awards. I took notes and paid close attention to the interesting comments my classmates made. I went to the library and checked out the last three Caldecott and Coretta Scott King books. My question is for those of you who are employed as LMS. Does your school library circulate a lot of award winning books? Do you encourage reading of award winning literature?
