Colleagues, A teacher is looking for the title of a short children's book about a parrot. All through the story, the parrot exclaims: "Wowie Kaflowie"(sp?). It was available during the early 1950s. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Carol E. Niemi, Librarian St. Francis High School Where Christ is the reason for the school Traverse City, MI cniemi@gtacs.org "If you open up scripture, the Gospel according to John ... 'In the beginning was the Word.' Although this has a very particular meaning in Scripture, more broadly what it speaks to is the critical importance of language, of writing, of reading, of communication, of books as a means of transmitting culture and binding us together as a people".
