I agree with Richard. The Dewey Decimal and tagging are two different animals. Dewey deals with shelf order. What tagging effects is standardized subject headings and thesauri such as LOC and Sears. Keyword searching jeopardized these things for a while. Tagging in my mind is just an extension of Keyword searching or note and content fields. Yes Richard, the most important thing is for your patrons to find the materials. Once they identify materials (using, tagging, keywords or whatever) they still have to find the books on a shelf in some kind of order.
