I just got through IM with both a public and an academic library which makes me wonder if there are schools out there using this as a reference service. Considering that often we run a one-person show, it doesn't seem likely, but for those of us with larger staffs, it might be possible. I realize that IM is often disabled within buildings, so that would be another technology hurdle to leap as well. If you use IM, how do you use it and how successful is it? floyd http://web.mac.com/sycamorehill/iWeb/LibrarianAYS/Home.html Floyd Pentlin ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------- Region III Director, American Association of School Librarians ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------- ANSWER MACHINE/FAX: 660.747.0683 - E-MAIL: calaf@charter.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------- 2007 Candidate for AASL President-Elect "AASL will continue to invigorate the library 'brand' as a dynamic and central presence in the educational process." -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
